On Aeolian Islands you’ll find more than 100 passable tracks that allow you to arrive everywhere. A breathtaking background characterized by Trekking to scout one of the most spectacular natural heritage of the Mediterranean area where nature, culture and all their beauties mingle remaining till today uncontaminated and visible to the human eye.
There are some maps marking the tracks which can be purchased at our hotel. Moreover, excursions run year round (except during August due to high temperatures).
In Lipari and in Salina the excursions take place with the support of scheduled or rented buses. From Lipari you can visit the other islands by motor boat or scheduled transport transfers.
Suggested items to pack:
a) backpack;
b) hat;
c) long trousers and short pants for climbing Stromboli;
d) windbreaker;
e) trekking shoes;
f) water, a sufficient quantity (really important, don’t forget it!);
g) torch to climb on Stromboli. Chocolate or dried fruit, sandwiches and anti-dust tissues. Some excursions on Aeolian Islands:
LIPARI Volcanological Observatory, Piano Greca until the sea of Valle Muria. Monte Gallina, going through Capistello. Caolino caves and San Calogero thermal baths. Pumice and obsidian mountains. From Quattropani to Monte San Angelo. From Acquacalda going up to Lami and going down to Pirrera and Canneto (old tracks).
STROMBOLI Night climb to the crater to assist the explosions from the top of the crater, and descent to Ginostra. Night climb to the crater and descent to the old forge and Scari.
PANAREA Prehistoric village and discent to Cala Junco. Tour of Panarea Island.
VULCANO Climb to the Crater. From Vulcanello to Valle dei Mostri. From Piano with descent to Gelso.
SALINA Monte delle Felci (natural protected reserve). Monte Porro. From Pollara to the beaches.
FILICUDI Excursion to the Canna. Monte Palmeri and Lazzaro.
ALICUDI Climb to the plain to old farms, where cows and sheep were reared and cheese produced.
